El " rey del rock" fue una figura muy controvertida. Pero forma parte de la historia de la musica.

Representa en Estados Unidos la forma de ser de una epoca muy convulsionada. Su niñez en la "America profunda": pobre, religiosa, a veces racista y sin embargo sus canciones tienen una muy clara influencia afroamericana.
