Cantante, músico y compositor jamaicano. Fue el interprete más importante de la música reggae y del movimiento Rastafari. La mayor parte de la venta de sus discos se hizo después de que muriese en 1981 (cuando solo tenia 36 años).

Su pais, Jamaica. sufrió una gran violencia política en la época en la que Bob se hacia famoso. Bob hizo grandes esfuerzos para combatir la violencia. Era mulato, ya que su padre era blanco, pero el siempre se consideró negro dándole suma importancia a sus raíces africanas.

Tuvo una vida amorosa sumamente desordenada, (más de una docena de hijos con diversas mujeres).
